Paralian Wines Shiraz
Springs Hill, Blewitt Springs, planted in 1998. Very old puncheons, and one new hogshead. 22% whole bunch. 160 dozen produced.
‘Panforte’ encapsulates it pretty well with all the nuts, chocolate and spice this offers. I love panforte. Aside that, blueberry and fresh blackberry with a grilled meat character. Medium-bodied, juicy dark berries with a meaty savoury edge, firm chamois-like grip to tannin, perfume and ripe raspberry on long fresh finish. Beautiful expression of Shiraz, and well done for not calling it ‘Syrah’ 95 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
