Description
The final wine sees around 70% whole bunch, some carbonic, some more traditional. Old 500L puncheons housed the wine for about 8 months post press, before the final wine was blended and sent to bottle without fining or filtration.” Blewitt Springs. 180 dozen produced.
A musk perfume over red berry, meaty and spicy too, peanut shells and dried herb in the mix. It’s fresh and juicy, all the red berries, but layered in with spice, sap and some earthy stuff. Almost comes over like a cru Beaujolais, which is perhaps the intent, though of course it’s identifably Grenache in character too. Tannin has a light grip, and the finish is good. It’s an excellent thing to drink. 92 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
