Description
It’s a juicy one this year, offering plenty of peach and pear flavour, a little oatmeal, cashew and cinnamon, but with a pink grapefruit tang. It’s flinty and spicy, a ball of flavour that pulls longer, and tighter on the finish. There’s a little struck match complexity and a whole lot more than a little in terms of enjoyment. High quality clones, hand-picked, crushed and destemmed, fermented in tank with wild and cultured yeast, matured in French oak (25% new) for 10 months. Small wonder that my head snapped back when I tasted the wine before reading the vinification notes - it's fresh and juicy right through to the mid-palate, before some of the complexity makes its appearance.
