Description
This outstanding release brings together the full spectrum of Bannockburn’s Pinot Noir vineyards, from the historic Olive Tree Hill (planted in 1976) through to newer plantings like De La Terre. Grown on volcanic loam and dark clay over limestone, each site contributes its own character, creating a wine of depth and complexity. The result is a beautifully layered Pinot that captures the essence of Bannockburn’s vineyard holdings in one seamless expression.
“From vines planted between '76 and '07, 20% whole bunches and 25% new oak. A light, bright cherry red. Red fruited, with wild hedgerow, roses and a melange of spices. This is really lifted and perfumed on the bouquet. Light to medium bodied, this builds nicely across the palate with superfine and persistent tannins and bright acidity, giving the wine both structure and length. I can see this filling out very nicely over the next few years.” 95 Points - Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion
