Description
HVD VINEYARD
Semillon 13.15 hectares | Chardonnay 4.58 hectares | Total: 17.73 hectares
The Single Vineyard HVD Semillon is sourced from the ‘Sign Post’ block in our HVD Vineyard, which was planted in 1908. This vineyard is situated between two dry creek beds and features free-draining, sandy soils over coarse river sand.
A little matchbox, lime and pine-lime, petrichor/crushed rock, tight and ripe fruit, zesty and lemon/limey, with a juicy fresh finish of excellent length, a little grip on exit. Feels a quite ‘minerally’ in a way, and very good too. Drink 2024-2035+ 95 points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
The grapes are sourced from the sandy soils of the 'Sign Post' block of the HVD vineyard, planted in 1908. The wine displays a beautifully complete aroma, blending lemon butter, zest and lime cordial with a subtle hint of flint. The mid-palate bursts with mouth-filling citrus tones, while the lively acidity brightens and extends the palate. 94 Points - Toni Paterson, James Halliday Wine Companion
