Description
A beautiful, nervy pinot here. Such purity and depth on the nose for a pinot that barely has any extraction. Tile, flowers, minerals and racy crushed raspberries and wild strawberries. Tense and pretty on the palate with incredible vibrancy and verve. Naturally structured. Long and really refined. So subtle, yet it lasts almost two minutes. Full of fruit. A step up from 2021. Around 50% whole bunch. Drink or hold.

45% concrete, 1st 2nd 3rd 4th oak. 6783 bottles. 1932 plantings. It seems to me, tasting this 2022, and the 2023 wines, that Chacra have relaxed their foot on the winemaking pedal, and to great effect. Concentrated and firm, dried cherry and raspberry, some biscuitty oak, floral too. Medium-bodied, so much quality tannin here, and richness of fruit, yet still fresh and vibrant, violet perfume, a cool ‘mineral’ feel, and even some liquorice to close on a finish of impeccable length. Superb wine.Drink 2025 - 2035+.
