Description
I think Mark Bulman is doing a Franco D’Anna here. The last three vintages of this wine have all been 12.3% alcohol (per Hoddles Creek’s classic 13.2%).
If I’m not mistaken there’s a little more colour in this wine this vintage, though it leans towards a more orange tint of pink. Lovely smelling wine; and it goes the way I like my rosato, not too much of any one thing, discreet, and quite complex. I’m thinking cherry, watermelon, blood orange, spice, a musky floral perfume, fennel tips. Or whatever you think really, I’m just saying it smells good. It’s soft and balanced, acidity sits just right in the wine, something of a pear skin grip, with a finish of excellent length and subtle amaro twang. It’s an excellent wine. Could twist my arm for 95 points even. 94 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
