Description
Produced from mature vines rooted in a diverse mix of limestone, schist, granite, and sandstone soils, this Chianti reflects the mineral complexity of its Tuscan origins. The blend is predominantly Sangiovese, with small additions of Colorino and Canaiolo. Fermented in concrete and aged in a combination of cement and large, neutral oak casks, the wine is made with minimal intervention and no new oak.
“Cherry, liquorice, dried herbs, almond, orange peel. This is a rustic and chewy wine in the best possible sense. It’s has plenty of flavour, a bit of an amaro twang, balanced acidity, and a fleshy but bright finish of good length with rusty tannin grip. Such character. I like it a lot.”
