Description
Sedal is the second release from Vinos Vignerons, a collaboration between Javier García (4 Monos), Carlos Sánchez (Las Bacantes), and Nacho Jiménez (Alma, vinos únicos), who craft characterful wines from the privileged vineyards of San Vicente de la Sonsierra in Rioja Alta. A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and a touch of Viura, Sedal is sourced from clay-limestone soils. It delivers the finesse and site expression the trio is known for, in a more approachable yet uncompromisingly high-quality style.
“Quite meaty, spicy and peppery, dark cherry, cola and dried herbs. It’s medium-bodied, has some tang and flavour of fresh blackberries, quite some spice and savoury meaty character, a dry grainy grip to tannin, with a bright almost fresh tomato finish of good length.
