Description
Sourced from two south-west–facing vineyards in San Sebastiano, Monforte d’Alba, where vines aged 25 to 70 years deliver low yields and late-ripening fruit thanks to altitude and direct Alpine exposure. The result is perfectly ripened grapes that avoid both drying and over-ripening, offering concentration while retaining the classic fragrance of Barbera.
“Tasted as a barrel sample, I Iove the aromatics of the 2023 Barbera D’Alba Carra, which has more lift and wonderful fragrant energy, with notes of wild berries, fresh blackberries, violets, fresh alpine herbs, and pine. It offers great freshness and a chalky texture, with snappy lift, more crunchy fruit, and a crisp, vibrant, mouthwatering feel. I love where these 2023s are going.”
