Description
Grown on the Westgate Vineyard in the Grampians region. Indeed this vineyard is home to the only marsanne and roussanne in the region. This bottle/label comes printed with the runner-up winner (penned by Zoe Bradley) of The Story/Overland Short Story competition. It’s worth buying a bottle for the story alone, which is a goodun’. The wine itself is fermented wild in old oak.
It has a glycerol quality, a plushness to the texture, though it zips long and spicy through the finish. This wine only saw old oak but there’s a cedarwood character at play, along with stonefruit, ginger, honeysuckle and citrus. It’s entirely convincing. It’s also ready to rip right now; it’s drinking beautifully. 92 points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
