Stoney Rise Chardonnay
Says on the first line of the (side) label. Tamar Valley – Chardonnay – Big Oak. If I were a simple consumer, I’d likely sensibly expect it to have a lot of oak, rather than subdued large format oak. Not that I’m complaining.
Interesting Chardonnay in some respects, in that it put me in mind of a Grüner Veltliner. Green apple, some white pepper, daikon, citrus. Juicy and tangy green apple, plenty of crunch, good flavour, fine dusty texture, and green apple, lime and breakfast radish on a nice zesty finish. Good. Easy to smash through a few glasses. 92 points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
