Description
"Australian winemaker Mark Haisma has spent a decade working in Burgundy. When I caught up with him during a visit back to Australia, I was impressed by all his wines, but this was the one I wanted to drink most: very fine, entrancing aromas of honeysuckle and wet stones, beautifully poised and balanced, with a shower of mouth-watering acidity. Really lovely Chardonnay from an underrated appellation." Max Allen, Top of the Drops AFR Magazine
“Australian Mark Haisma now sources his enticing, well-priced Saint Romain from two different lieux-dits - Le Jarron and Village - located between 320 and 350 metres in one of the Côte de Beaune's coolest villages. Floral, leesy and very fresh, it has just a touch of oak from 500-litre barrels and crunchy, mouth-watering line and length.” 91 points, Tim Atkin, Decanter
“The 2018 Saint Romain Village is a blend of two vineyards, Le Jarron and Village. It has a perfumed bouquet of red apples, light peach and hints of apricot blossom. The palate is medium bodied with a lovely saline entry, a fine line of acidity and a precise finish. This is exactly what a Saint Romain should be.” 89-91 Points, Neal Martin
“Pale colour with light green tint. Tense fresh no more than medium bodied with some lime blossom. A refreshing old fashioned sort of St Romain. Jarrons and Village. Yet the length is impressive.” Jasper Morris
