For this intense and serious minded Barbera, Mascarello uses traditional-style, floating cap fermentation of estate-grown grapes for 15/20 days. The wine is then matured in medium-sized oak barrels for 18 months. This could easily be laid down for five years to reveal more of its powerful stuffing and excellent body.
