Description
The 2018 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru reveals a lovely bouquet of rose petals, wild berries, exotic spices and rich soil tones. This is followed by a full-bodied, deep and multidimensional palate that's concentrated and serious, built around exquisitely refined but abundant tannins, concluding with a long and expansive finish. 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Charles van Canneyt thinks that the longevity of the best 2018s will surprise us in the future, and I suspect he may have a point when it comes to this effortlessly concentrated, complex Grand Cru. Aged in 45% new barrels, it's engagingly sweet, nuanced and juicy with velvety tannins, refreshing acidity for the vintage and a long, nuanced finish. Hard to keep your hands off it young, but give it time in bottle. 96 points Decanter
