Description
A rental agreement in the Grand Maupertui sector, but Henri puts neither the word domaine nor the lieu-dit on the label. There was a high proportion of millerand grapes so picked straight after the Echezeaux. Jet black purple, just a little touch of reduction, the last to be racked. Considerable tannins here, and the black fruit which is not atypical of Clos Vougeot. There is no doubting the power, and it has not been picked too late. 93-97pts Jasper Morris
The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish. 94 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
