Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape
The blend is roughly 85% Grenache, 7% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah and 3% Cinsault. Naturally fermented and raised without any new oak. For those new to this wine, Marcoux's Châteauneuf is drawn from 13 parcels of vines, biodynamically farmed and dotted across the appellation.
The 2016 was raised in a blend of 90% concrete vat and 10% 350-litre casks and tronconique cuve for 18 months and was bottled unfiltered."Brilliant red. Highly perfumed red fruit liqueur, potpourri and Moroccan spice scents show impressive vivacity and focus. Sappy, alluringly sweet and precise, offering palate-staining raspberry and floral pastille flavors and a hint of spicecake. Closes very long and smooth, displaying excellent focus, even tannins and emphatic, floral-tinged persistence."
