Re-corked at the Château in February 2019
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
The vineyard of château Bel-Air Lagrave, a family estate for 150 years, is a Cru Bourgeois in the 1932 classification. This property is situated in the heart of Médoc in the controlled appellation area of Moulis. Its vines are planted on the gravel outcrops of Grand-Poujeaux, on Garonne Günz gravel soils; the same gravel soils as the famous classified growths of the Médoc. At Chateau Bel-Air Lagrave a philosophy of quality guides every aspect of production including its viticultural practices, from severe pruning, avoidance of chemical weeding, and hand harvesting of its entire crop. In the same spirit, the owners, the Bacquey family, which count among its members an agronomist and a qualified enologist, employ winemaking techniques that respect the traditions of both the Médoc and their family, while also integrating modern techniques, such as thermo-regulation, to ensure that quality remains at the forefront.
Deep, brillant ruby robe with garnet rim. Complex and intense aromas of undergrowth, leather and tobacco. Long and well balanced palate with blackcurrant, cigar and toast flavours.
