Masseria Li Veli 'Orion' Primitivo
DescriptionIt’s soft and supple, rich with ripe, booze-soaked red and black berries. There’s a bit of dark chocolate, a bit of mint, a bit of saline mineral character too. It rolls around the palate with authority and finishes on a long-down-the-trail woody dry note. A bit of sour orange juice in there too, presenting as freshness, but slightly bitter. In all this, a satisfying rendition of primitivo that feels modern and done well. This is also my review for the 2021. Except it’s a bit more diffuse and hot, more strawberry and spice. And one point lower. 89 Points - Gary Walsh - The Wine Front.
