An exceptional La Collina release with such impressive depth and power, yet elegant and detailed, too. Aromas of black tea, red cherry and plum, pomegranate, cola nut, white pepper, clove and graphite. The palate is defined by long, tensile tannins and holds such pure fresh-fruit flavor in an intense, deep and focused finish. Power with elegance and purity here. Excellent syrah. Bilancia's flagship wine now attracts a cult following. The sloping La Collina vineyard seems to achieve a high level of ripeness even in the cooler vintages. Vintage 2019 was remarkable year that has produced a remarkable syrah. It has power and yet is elegant. It will obviously cellar very well but can be appreciated now. 98 points - Bob Campbell
