Description
The Guido is somewhat of 'super rosso' - it's what you might call a field blend of merlot, croatina, barbera, uva rara, nebbiolo, vespolina and erbaluce.
It's an eclectic blend from mainly 60-100 year old vines, that somehow, strangely - works an absolute treat. It's produced from a series of ancient trellis systems some of the bush vines may be up to 130 years of age. Importers Notes
Spice, strawberry, red cherry, distinctly floral, a bit saucy. Medium-bodied, at most, ripe red fruits with blood orange tang, lots of energy, fine chalky tannin, and good length. Super interesting. 93 points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
